I've been studying classical guitar since 2005, creating interactive music tools and adapting Renaissance-era compositions for modern practice.
My focus is on music by John Dowland from the late 1500s/early 1600s, originally composed for the lute and carefully adapted for classical guitar.

About the Lute
John Dowland composed for lute, but his pieces translate surprisingly well to classical guitar with some adaptation.
I got interested in this music because it sits at this sweet spot between technical challenge and musical expression. The fingerpicking patterns are intricate enough to keep you thinking, but the melodies are genuinely beautiful and not just exercises.
Plus, there's something appealing about playing 400-year-old music that was written for an instrument most people have never seen.
